Health Partners Foundation

To help meet the needs of our communities, we sponsor and support local organizations that are making a positive difference in the neighborhoods where our members live.

The Foundation is funded by Health Partners Plans employees with the help of the generous support of business and individual donors.

Several Foundation programs increase the odds of success for our neighbors.

Here’s how we're commited to inspiring positive change in our community:


Making a Difference Awards

Winner Pypm GroupEach October, HPF honors local outstanding individuals and organizations that are working hard to make a difference in their communities. The 2017 event featured honorees from Program Home, Breakthrough of Greater Philadelphia, Sarah Ashley Andrews, President and Founder of Dare2Hope, and Raymound Gant, President and Co-Founder of the Ray of Hope Project. We also honored high school student Kyah McCall as our Partner in Excellence. Meet this year's winners.

Community College Connections and Making Dreams a Reality Scholarships

IMG_0958High achieving students with a financial need from our partner schools are eligible for our Community College Connections and Making Dreams a Reality scholarships to help pay for books and other educational expenses. Meet some of our scholarship recipients.


Carver Science Fair

Img _4091_500x 375Encouraging students to explore connections between health and technology, the Health Tech and Healthy Advances awards recognizes students in grades 4-12 for the best project at the George Washington Carver Science Fair that shows how technology can help address health issues. The winner receives cash and an award from the Foundation. Meet our awardees.

Winter Food Drive

Full Size Render _175x 131Each November, HPP employees fill laundry baskets with food items. The baskets are hand delievered to organizations and individuals within our community. In 2017, we delivered 300 baskets to organizations like: Mother's Home, Mothers in Charge, Grands as Parents, Concerned Black Men, Mothers in Charge, Greater Faith Missionary Church and more. Annual Toy Drive

IMG_7691Each December, HPP employees purchase gifts for children in need. In 2017, we delivered toys and gifts to a diverse group of organizations including: Unity in the Community, St. Christopher Hospital, Congresso, Jewish Relief, Taylor Tabernacle, Developing Excellence and more. Read Across America Book Drive

IMG_1349_177x 118HPF collects donated books to be distributed to kids of all ages from our region to encourage reading. HPF and HPP personally delivered donated books to five local partner schools: Richard Wright Elementary, Stonehurst Elementary, Laboratory Charter School, Delcroft School and St. Thomas Aquinas Mission School. Tooth Buddy Tales

IMG_0832_177x 118Partnering with HPP's community education team and in honor of National Children's Dental Health Month, HPF organizes a puppet show, providing area students fun, laugher and an important message about oral hygiene. See all the smiling faces from Brightside Academy here.



Supporting Committed Organizations

The Foundation provides small donations to organizations and programs who reach underserved communities in our service areas. Organizations that have benefited from our support include: The African-American Children's Book Fair, Teenshop, Evoluer House, Rubye's Kids, Public Citizens for Children and Youth (PCCY), Philadelphia Academies and many more.
