Music Superstar Jazmine Sullivan Joins Health Partners Plans in Uniting Communities at Health & Music Festival

HPP Will Host Day of Celebration, Education and Music from Local Stars

Philadelphia, PA — Grammy-nominated singer Jazmine Sullivan will be joined by funk innovator Jeff Bradshaw, rapper Chill Moody and other Philadelphia favorites at Health Partners Plans’Health and Music Festival. Thousands are expected to unite in Germantown forthe free, signature event on Saturday, September 16.This year’s theme is “Finding the ‘U’ in Unity.” As the first managed care organization in the country to receive the renowned National Committee for Quality Assurance’s (NCQA) Multicultural Health Care Distinction, Health Partners Plans (HPP) is known as a company that understands and addresses health care disparities stemming from race, ethnicity and language. HPP chose to host the celebration to engage and unite the community and to help people lead healthier lives in the face of social barriers to care.

“Health Partners Plans is much more than a health care company,” said President and CEO Bill George. “We’ve worked for more than 32 years to enrich the lives of our members and our neighbors through health, education and connecting people to vital resources. The Health and Music Festival will not only give people a day of fun and learning, it will also show us what is possible when we come together, embrace our differences and celebrate our diversity.”

The celebration will be held at New Covenant Church at 7500 Germantown Avenue, and will begin with a Health Festival from 12:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. New this year, attendees will enjoy entertainment on the Unity stage during the Health Festival, which will include live performances from the Society for Helping Church’s Deaf Choir and the SEAMAAC Hip Hop Heritage breakdancing group. Attendees will also have access to: 

  • Complimentary health screenings, massages and facials
  • Health information and giveaways
  • Kids zone
  • Food trucks
  • Mini HPP job fair

The day will culminate with the grand finale concert at 6:00 p.m., with doors opening at 5:00 p.m. Sullivan, Bradshaw and Chill Moody will take the stage for an evening of fun and celebration, hosted by Quincy “Q” Harris from Fox 29’s “The Q” talk show.

The HPP Health and Music Festival is FREE and open to the public. Those who attend the Health Festival will receive priority entry for the evening concert, but tickets are required and will not be available at the door.
