A change is coming

It’s a small but important change. Starting January 1, 2020, we will use a new company to process prescription drug claims.

Pharmacies work with companies called pharmacy benefit managers to check your coverage every time you have a prescription filled. Pharmacies use codes printed on your health plan member ID card to know how to check your prescription benefits.

Because we are changing companies, these codes on your Health Partners (Medicaid) ID card will change. We will send all members new ID cards late this year, so you have them before January 1, 2020.

What this means to you

Starting January 1, 2020, it’s important that you show your new Health Partners ID card when getting new prescriptions or refills. This will prevent any problem with confirming your prescription drug coverage.

There’s no change to your Health Partners ID number, your coverage or what you pay for prescriptions. And you can still go to your regular pharmacy to get your prescriptions filled. The only change is that you need to use your new ID card.
