Talk to Patients about the Importance of Preventive Screenings
Despite evidence supporting the effectiveness of colorectal cancer screening and the variety of test options available, screenings for colorectal cancer remain lower than those for breast and cervical cancers.* However, screenings may increase when patients are offered a variety of test options.
The HEDIS measure for Colorectal Cancer Screening (COL) measures the percentage of patients 50–75 years of age who had the appropriate screening for colorectal cancer. For more information and tips, download our "Men's Health Month" tip sheet.
