Oral Health and Preventive Care in Your Medical Office—Revenue Opportunities for Fluoride Varnish Certification
Providers have a valuable opportunity to participate in a one-hour oral health training webinar that will provide state certification, one CME/CEU credit and increased revenue opportunities for your practice.
ORAL HEALTH AND PREVENTIVE CARE IN YOUR MEDICAL OFFICE
As you know, tooth decay remains a common chronic issue among our youngest members despite early detection efforts, increased coverage and access to preventive services.
To help address this issue, the Pennsylvania chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) created Healthy Teeth Healthy Children (HTHC), a program that provides free one-hour on-site training* and webinars that focus on topical fluoride varnish application and certification. These trainings are a critical component of HTHC’s goal of championing the integration of medical and dental services for children and empowering pediatric providers to promote high-quality preventive oral health services in the primary care setting.
Physicians and billing Certified Registered Nurse Practitioners (CRNPs) must be certified by the Department of Human Services (DHS) to be reimbursed for the application of topical fluoride varnish. To streamline the certification process, HPP and AAP invite providers and all office staff—including physician assistants and billing and coding staff—to join us for a DHS-approved webinar scheduled for September 19, 2019 from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. All eligible providers who participate and successful complete the training will be certified and able to apply topical fluoride varnish immediately upon completion of the webinar. Additionally, all eligible participants will earn one CME/CEU credit upon completion of the program.
Note: HTHC will send confirmation of your certification to DHS immediately after receipt of the evaluation form at the conclusion of the webinar.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE?
According to DHS, “all Medical Assistance (MA) Program-enrolled physicians and independently practicing CRNPs who render services to MA beneficiaries in the fee-for-service delivery system” are eligible to be certified.

Dr. Steven Moshen, Dental Director, Health Partners Plans, and Bonnie Magliochetti, MA, RDH, RN, of HTHC will provide the certification presentation, explain how to schedule on-site trainings and answer questions at the conclusion of the webinar.
