Continuing Webinar Series: Topical Fluoride Varnish Certification Course
Tooth decay is a common issue among our youngest members, despite early detection efforts and access to preventive services such as fluoride varnishes.
The Pennsylvania chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics’ Healthy Teeth Healthy Children program helps fight this problem. The program offers free one-hour on-site trainings and webinars to enable primary care physicians (PCPs) to integrate medical and dental services for children.
The program provides information about topical fluoride varnish applications during well child visits, including the opportunity for increased revenue through appropriate coding.
Attend a webinar and get certified
Providers must be certified by the Department of Human Services (DHS) to receive reimbursement for the application of topical fluoride varnish.
To streamline the certification process, Health Partners Plans and the American Academy of Pediatrics invite providers and appropriate office staff to join us for the first in a series of webinars. Providers who complete the one-hour webinar will be immediately certified to apply topical fluoride varnish. All providers will also receive one CME/CEU credit. Confirmation of your certification will be sent to DHS upon conclusion of the webinar.
Who is eligible?
Per DHS, “all Medical Assistance (MA) Program enrolled physicians and independently practicing Certified Registered Nurse Practitioners (CRNP) who render services to MA beneficiaries in the fee-for-service delivery system” are eligible for certification.
You will be asked to provide your 13-digit medical assistance identification number (MAID) on the registration form. This number is required for your certification to be processed.
