Health Partners Plans Unveils Powerful Tools of Support, Compassion in Fight against Opioid Addiction

New Benefits to Provide Support and Resources for People Seeking Services and Treatment

Philadelphia, PA — Health Partners Plans (HPP) continues its commitment to innovative, holistic health care by announcing partnerships with local Centers of Excellence (COEs) to aid in the fight against opioid addiction. COEs are clinics that provide support and resources to people seeking services and treatment related to opioids and opioid use disorder. These resources include:

  • One-on-one counseling
  • Intensive group therapy and education
  • Case management, screenings and assessments

As part of its contract with the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services, HPP currently partners with several COEs across Southeastern Pennsylvania. HPP Medicaid and CHIP members can schedule appointments or walk in for services. Members need only show their HPP ID cards to receive treatment at no additional cost to them.

HPP is well-equipped for the fight against opioid addiction. As the first Pennsylvania managed care organization to provide medically tailored meals to chronically ill members and improve access to care for members experiencing homelessness, HPP has extensive experience in removing barriers to health and happiness for its members. HPP is ready for this latest challenge.

“Opioid addiction affects millions of Americans and has taken a tremendous toll here in Southeastern Pennsylvania,” said HPP President and CEO Denise Croce. “As a nationally recognized health care leader and as our members’ trusted health care partner, HPP is uniquely qualified to offer the supportive, compassionate recovery services that will truly make a difference in this fight.”

The COEs are open now. Visit hpplans.com/health-and-wellness/the-opioid-epidemic for more information. HPP Medicaid and CHIP members with questions about COEs can call HPP at 1-888-477-9800. HPP providers can call their Network Account Manager (NAM) or the Provider Services Helpline at 1-888-991-9023.
