David Naramore Named Vice President and Chief Actuary for Health Partners Plans

Philadelphia, PA — David Naramore, a seasoned leader in the managed care industry, has joined Health Partners Plans (HPP) as Vice President and Chief Actuary, reporting to Executive Vice President of Finance and Administration and Chief Financial Officer Eric Huss.

Naramore oversees the alignment of actuarial services with financial functions to ensure the best possible business intelligence in communications with executive leadership, owner hospitals and regulators. Naramore leads the timely and accurate filing of all actuarial deliverables to federal regulators and both internal and external auditors and customers. In addition, Naramore provides insights and recommendations to HPP executives in support of decisions related to strategic direction.

Naramore brings more than 24 years of actuarial and leadership experience to HPP. He has a proven track record in reducing costs, enhancing forecasting and budgeting processes, and strengthening the quality, credibility and dependability of actuarial services. In addition, Naramore has expertise in financial forecasting and reporting, data analysis and regulatory compliance.

Prior to joining HPP, Naramore served as vice president and chief actuary at Independent Health in Buffalo, New York, where he created and led an efficient, high-functioning team, reducing costs by hundreds of thousands of dollars in the process. During his career, Naramore has also served as actuarial services manager at HealthNow in Buffalo and actuarial services manager at Excellus in Rochester, New York.

Naramore received a Bachelor of Science in mathematics from St. Michael’s College in Winooski, Vermont and a Master of Science in mathematics from Syracuse University. He is an Associate of the Society of Actuaries and a member of the American Academy of Actuaries.
