Health Partners Plans Names Beverly Collins Vice President, Chief Quality Officer

Philadelphia, PA — Health Partners Plans (HPP) announced today that Dr. Beverly A. Collins has joined the company as vice president, chief quality officer. Dr. Collins brings more than 20 years of experience in progressive health care management and quality improvement to HPP. In her new role, she will lead improvement efforts of Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS) and Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) STAR ratings for the company. Additionally, she will oversee a variety of initiatives aimed at enhancing member experience, clinical quality and operation efficiencies.

Dr. Collins will also evaluate HPP’s current care delivery model and create the framework for improvements through internal programs and enhanced provider relationships. Using her extensive knowledge in data analysis, Dr. Collins will focus on maintaining and implementing initiatives that afford the highest quality of care for members.

Prior to joining HPP, Dr. Collins served as medical director for WellCare Health Plans where she chaired the Quality Improvement Committee, Utilization Management Medical Advisory Committee and the Provider Advisory Committee. She also oversaw Medicaid care management, quality improvement, behavioral health/substance abuse, credentialing, dental and local analytic functions. In addition, Dr. Collins held the positions of vice president and medical director for quality and training at CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield and medical director for quality improvement at Delmarva Foundation for Medical Care.

Dr. Collins holds a doctor of medicine from the University of Maryland, a master of business administration from Loyola College and a master of science in epidemiology and preventive medicine from University of Maryland. She resides in Philadelphia and the Eastern Shore of Maryland.
