Dr. Reetika Kumar Named Senior Medical Director of Health Partners Plans
Philadelphia, PA — Reetika Kumar M.D., FACP, has joined Health Partners Plans as senior medical director. In her role, Dr. Kumar will focus on care utilization and disease management for Health Partners Medicare members. In addition, Dr. Kumar will oversee the development and management of clinical strategies and operations aimed at improving the health outcomes and well-being of all members.
Specializing in internal medicine, Dr. Kumar joins Health Partners Plans with more than 15 years of experience, including extensive work in disease and case management.

Prior to joining Health Partners Plans, Dr. Kumar served as the senior medical director of utilization at Cigna HealthSpring, where she focused on utilization management and identifying barriers to quality care. Before that, she served as a physician hospitalist for the Advanced Care Centers at Bravo Health. She also worked at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, where she was appointed director of case management and held the position of faculty hospitalist. Additionally, Dr. Kumar worked in the hospital’s patient and urgent care units.
Dr. Kumar received her medical degree from the Maulana Azad Medical College in New Delhi, India, currently ranked third in the country by India Today & Times of India. She completed her post-graduate training at John Hopkins University Sinai Hospital in Baltimore. Dr. Kumar currently resides with her husband and two children in Mullica Hill, New Jersey.
